SWPPP Inspections

Inspection Report

Environmental Inspection Laws currently mandate that regulated construction have a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). An SWPPP is a site-specific, written document signed by a company executive. This document identifies all potential activities at the site that could cause water pollution. The SWPPP also details the Best Management Practices (BMPs) the facility uses to reduce those pollutants in stormwater.

Why Stormwater Inspections are Necessary In Texas

Site Inspections ensure that your site is in compliance with an approved Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and that the Best Management Practices (BMPs) are correctly installed and functioning properly. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Construction General Permit (CGP) TXR150000 requires site inspections for projects that disturb an acre or more. The General Permit allows for site inspections to be conducted at one of the following frequencies:

  • Every 14 calendar days and within 24 hours of a storm event of 0.50 inches or greater
  • Every seven (7) calendar days

To avoid legal implications, you need to ensure that you are conducting stormwater inspections in accordance with the local requirements as well as the minimum State of Texas requirements.

What Does A SWPPP Inspection Include?

Our qualified inspectors conduct weekly SWPPP compliance inspections. They record the findings of the stormwater inspection and provide a signed, detailed report for you to act on. They will adjust the construction site SWPPP as necessary to reflect ongoing changes to your construction project and ensure compliance with SWPPP inspection requirements. They will provide advice on compliance-related issues and stay in close communication with the construction site project manager.

Blue Palm Environmental has the experience required to perform an inspection at your site. Our inspectors possess the necessary expertise to inspect your site. All our stormwater inspectors are fully versed in the latest Texas laws and regulations.
